Fantasy Premier League tips: Last-minute transfers, bargains, captain picks for FPL GW21
FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE managers need to make their transfers now if they're going to avoid missing the GW21 deadline.
Fantasy Premier League bosses have just a few hours to organise their squads before the GW21 transfer deadline passes and the New Year’s Day action gets underway.
The hectic festive schedule is sure to have already caught out thousands of frustrated FPL gaffers, and there’s no let-up with the latest round of fixtures coming just two days after the end of the previous gameweek.

Arsenal are looking to get back to winning ways when they host Fulham this afternoon, having suffered a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool last time out.
The Reds face Manchester City in a top of the table clash on Thursday while Tottenham are away at Cardiff and Manchester United travel to Newcastle – but which of their players will you sign before the 11.30am deadline?
Top FPL transfer tips
GKP: David Button (Brighton & Hove Albion) – £4.0m
With Mat Ryan off at the Asian Cup, Button was handed his first appearance of the season against Everton and made an instant impression.
Four saves, a clean sheet and nine points should be enough for FPL managers to start considering the Seagulls stopper, despite tough fixtures.
DEF: David Luiz (Chelsea) – £5.8m
The Brazilian remains a bargain with Chelsea picking up their ninth clean sheet of the campaign against Crystal Palace.
Luis provided the assist for N’Golo Kante against the Eagles and helped himself to maximum bonus points so should be on the radar ahead of home matches against Southampton and Newcastle.
FWD: Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal) – £9.4m
Restricted to a cameo appearance against Liverpool despite three consecutive assists for the Gunners, although Unai Emery will be under pressure to start the Frenchman against Fulham.
Lacazette scored twice against the Cottagers earlier in the season and will hope for more at the Emirates.
In-form FPL players
MID: Paul Pogba (Manchester United – £8.3m) – 7.8 form
The Frenchman now has four goals in two games for United and looks a completely different player under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Pogba also has four assists in his past three games and has registered points hauls of 13, 15 and 18 during his most recent appearances.
MID: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool – £13.3m) – 9.4 form
Three goals and three assists across his last three fixtures suggests Salah is in the groove again, with the Egyptian joint-top of the scorer’s chart.
A trip to Manchester City is next, but don’t bet against the Liverpool star adding to his 13 strikes so far this season.
MID: Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur – £8.8m) – 9.6 form
The hottest FPL property right now with four goals and three assists in his past three appearances.
However, Son is not a clever investment with the South Korean departing for the Asian Cup.
Best-value FPL bargains
MID: Robert Snodgrass (West Ham United – £5.4m) – 1.1 value
The Scottish midfielder enjoyed a bright spell last month but has now gone three matches without any attacking returns and is tumbling in value.
DEF: Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool – £6.4m) – 1.1 value
Just two points last time out against Arsenal but the Dutchman has already racked up 11 clean sheets so far this campaign.
Not the cheapest signing, but more than worth the money.
GKP: Neil Etheridge (Cardiff City – £4.5m) – 1.4 value
The Bluebirds keeper saved his third penalty of the season last weekend and is closing in on the 100-point mark.

Who should I captain in FPL GW21?
Paul Pogba (Manchester United) vs Newcastle United (A)
Pogba has been on fire since Solskjaer took over at Old Trafford and his goalscoring run could well continue away at Newcastle.
Over half a million FPL managers have signed the World Cup winner this week, so handing him the armband would be a safe bet.
Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur) vs Cardiff City (A)
Kane was on target last time out against Wolves but couldn’t prevent his side from slipping to a shock defeat.
The England captain has 13 goals so far this season and is expected to add to that tally this evening.
TOP CHOICE: Alexandre Lacazette (Arsenal) vs Fulham (H)
Surprisingly left on the bench against Liverpool but almost certain to start against the Cottagers as Arsenal look to bounce back.
A threat all season but only owned by 7.1 per cent of managers, meaning Lacazette is too tempting to ignore as a differential.
