United staff usually walk through red gates to enter the stadium on match days.
And Solskjaer was no different today as he emerged a couple of hours before kick off.
Solskjaer immediately greeted the door steward, giving him a warm handshake and a smile.
The manager is a popular figure around the red half of Manchester and he strode into the stadium with a grin on his face.
Fans were spotted buying Solskjaer memorabilia ahead of kick off outside the stadium, with plenty of Solskjaer-inspired items on sale.
Manchester United have tasked Solskjaer with effectively steadying the ship for the remainder of the season - at which point they will move for a new permanent boss.
The Red Devils have Mauricio Pochettino in their sights but the Tottenham boss is well under contract in north London.
Spurs would put up a fight to keep Pochettino, while both Real Madrid and Barcelona may be in for the Argentine come the end of the season.
