Jose Mourinho has one big Man Utd regret after being replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
JOSE MOURINHO’s biggest Manchester United regret after being replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly been revealed.
Man Utd: One ‘had to go’ out of Pogba and Mourinho says Wise
Jose Mourinho touched down at Manchester United in the summer of 2016 but, after two-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, has now been relieved of his duties.
In his first season at the club, he steered them to two major trophies in the form of the EFL Cup and Europa League.
Ultimately, however, his Manchester United reign failed to live up to expectations. Mourinho has now joined David Moyes and Louis van Gaal in being thrown onto the scrapheap.
And the Daily Mail say the 55-year-old has one major regret about his time at the club.
That is that he did not deliver for the fans.
A source is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “He sees United as another part of his journey in football.
“The biggest sadness is that they did not deliver for the fans, for whom he has huge respect.”
Mourinho’s time at United ran out after several high-profile arguments with his players.
He was regularly at war with Paul Pogba, who he deemed a ‘virus’ just last month.

And he was also constantly battling with the likes of Anthony Martial and Luke Shaw.
In a statement released after his sacking, however, Mourinho refused to take shots at his now former club.
”I have been immensely proud to wear the badge of Manchester United since the first day I arrived, and I believe all United supporters recognise this,” he said.
“Just as was the case with my previous clubs, I have worked with some wonderful people and I believe that some will be my friends for life.
Mourinho has not improved Man United says Michael Gray
“I know that you are all aware of my professional principles.
“Each time a chapter is closed I show my deepest respect and I don’t make any comments about my former colleagues.
“I hope the media will also respect my position and let me live my normal life until the moment I decide to return to football. Merry Christmas.”
Mourinho has been linked with jobs at Real Madrid and Inter Milan since his exit.
