Klopp praises 'outstanding' performance against United
Shaqiri, a £12million summer signing from Stoke, came off the bench and proved the difference, scoring twice as Liverpool downed Manchester United 3-1.
But Souness wasn't full of praise for the super-sub - at least initially.
"He's only any good, with all due respect to him, if you're dominating, are on the front foot and have the ball," the no-nonsense Sky Sports pundit said.
"Don't be asking him to do the hard yards if you're under the cosh."

"It looked like Lievrpool had run out of ideas. United were on the ropes but the substitution... the boy knows where the back of the net is and he can see a pass," he said.
"He's comfortable on the ball and it was coming.
"I didn't think Liverpool looked at their sharpest and I thought United were going to get away with it.
"But in the last 20 minutes they wore them down and towards the end it could have been four or five.

"My biggest worry about Man United before the game was that they could be found today - and they were.
"It's fairly easy sitting up here and being critical. I feel a lot of players playing for Man United aren't good enough for Man United. They're good players, but not for Man United.
"The biggest problem for United is defensively. You've got to keep clean-sheets and they look like they're all over the place.
"If Liverpool were on it today, they could have scored four or five."
