Liverpool vs Man Utd: Graeme Souness singles out two star players - 'I'm worried'
LIVERPOOL legend Graeme Souness was worried about two of Jurgen Klopp’s players ahead of Sunday’s clash against Manchester United.
Souness was speaking before kick off of the huge Premier League clash at Anfield.
Klopp did not spring many big surprises with his team selection, with Nathaniel Clyne making his first Premier League appearance of the season due to injuries to Joe Gomez and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
However, he left club captain Jordan Henderson on the bench.
Fabinho and Naby Keita were preferred in midfield alongside the ever-reliable Georginio Wijnaldum.
I’m slightly worried about Keita and Fabinho
And Souness admitted he was concerned over Keita and Fabinho, who were playing in their first derby match against Manchester United.
“I’m slightly worried about Keita and Fabinho,” he said on Sky Sports.
“Fabinho has been a slow-burner in terms of catching up with the pace of the Premier League.
“This will test him, this is the fastest of all fast games.
“Fabinho, looking at him play at Bournemouth last week, he’s steady.
“Keita I think needs to have a good game.”
Liverpool were favourites heading into the match after their unbeaten start to the season.
And Souness was still confident his former side could come away with all three points despite their depleted line up.
“As I said it’s not the strongest midfield, not the strongest back four,” he continued.
“They’re not without their weaknesses but you’ve still got to fancy Liverpool at home.
“The tempo they play at, you’ve still got to fancy them.”
