Liverpool news: ‘I’m sick of it’ - Jamie Carragher vents his Reds frustration
LIVERPOOL legend Jamie Carragher has revealed he is fed up with onlookers claiming his former side have not been playing at their best this season.
Liverpool have been strong in the Champions League says pundit
Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League table 16 games into the campaign.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are a point clear of reigning champions Manchester City and are the only team yet to taste defeat.
Liverpool became known for their exciting, attacking football last season but were susceptible defensively.
Those defensive problems seem to have been sorted though, with the Reds conceding just six goals so far in the Premier League - three fewer than the next best record in the top flight.
At the moment we know what’s going to happen - Liverpool are going to win games
Many have claimed Liverpool are yet to reach their peak this season but Jamie Carragher says that is not the case.
The Sky Sports pundit just thinks there is a style change from the Anfield club and the results prove they are better for it.
“I’m sick of hearing, not just Liverpool fans, everyone talking about ‘when are we going to see the real Liverpool? When are Liverpool going to be back to their best?’,” Carragher said.
“Liverpool haven’t lost a game this season.
“They’ve been away to Chelsea, Arsenal, they’ve played Man City at home, away at Tottenham.
“The way Liverpool are playing may just be different (to last season).
“I’m pleased to see it because I think on this show last season, I think Liverpool played away at Leicester and won 3-2 early in the season, and I come out and said I’m sick of Liverpool being everybody’s second team.
“Everyone wanted to watch Liverpool, they’re exciting, you don’t know what’s going to happen.
Liverpool v Napoli: Champions League match preview
“At the moment we know what’s going to happen - Liverpool are going to win games.
“It’s not going to be end-to-end basketball games and thankfully as a Liverpool supporter I’m glad it’s the end of that.”
Liverpool are in must-win Champions League action on Tuesday when Napoli visit Anfield.
A 1-0 win would be enough for the hosts to qualify for the last 16 but they would need to score at least three if Napoli were to find the back of the net.
They are without Joe Gomez after the England international suffered a fracture to his leg in the win over Burnley last week.
