Liverpool are playing like title winners but have ‘one BIG problem’ - Gary Neville
LIVERPOOL are playing like Premier League title winners but have one big problem standing in their way - Manchester City.
Premier League: Title race is wide open insists Pep Guardiola
That is according to Manchester United and England legend and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville.
Liverpool are top of the table after 16 games of the season and are yet to lose a league game.
They are one point clear of Manchester City who lost for the first time this term at Chelsea on Saturday.
Neville can see Liverpool winning the title and has been impressed with what he has seen from them.
They’ve got one big problem and that’s Manchester City
However, he admits there is no breathing space for Jurgen Klopp’s side, claiming City will not let them run clear at the top.
“They can (win the league) and I’ve thought that for a few months,” Neville said.
“However they’ve got one big problem and that’s Manchester City.
"They’re up against an outstanding team.
“If you look at the points clear that Manchester City were last season - Liverpool are only one clear.
“So for all their efforts, for all their quality, for all their performances, they’re in a dogfight still.
“But they should relish it because they are performing at a title-winning level.
“They have to now maintain it over the next 22 games.
“But they’re at a title-winning level, they have to maintain it and City are not going to let them go.
“They’re going to hang in there with them, not just on a game by game basis, in a season by season basis.
“That’s going to be tough.”
