Dimitar Berbatov in hilarious Goals On Sunday GAFFE: 'Matteo Guendouzi is p*ssing me off'
DIMITAR BERBATOV was forced to apologise on live TV after saying Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi "p*sses him" off.
Berbatov was on the Sky Sports Sunday morning show reviewing Saturday's Premier League action.
And the former Man Utd and Spurs striker was asked to give his opinion on Arsenal's 1-0 win over Huddersfield.
Berbatov hailed Arsenal manager Unai Emery then moved on to discuss Guendouzi and said: "He’s 19 but he’s playing like he’s been there forever.
"Sometimes I’m watching him like I want to be against him because “pissing off” with the confidence he has.
Presenter Ben Shephard jumped in quickly and said: “You can’t say that. We apologise.”
Berbatov then said “Sorry guys” and continuing praising the Arsenal midfielder.
He added: "But he’s [got] a confidence that I want to beat this guy.
"He’s so confident on the ball and he’s everywhere on the pitch.
"I've watched him. He’s in his box, the other box, running without [a] problem.
"You can be 19 and have the mentality and experience of a 24-year-old. Age doesn’t matter. He’s unbelievable."
Guendouzi joined Arsenal in summer from French Ligue 2 side Lorient and wasn’t expected to play a significant role this season.
But the teenager impressed on pre-season and was handed a surprise debut against Man City on the opening weekend of the season.
He has since made 20 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions and scored his first goal for the club in the Europa League win over Qarabag.
