Arsenal news: Big claim over Gunners ‘target’ Wesley made ahead of January transfer window
CLUB BRUGGE manager Ivan Lenko has claimed Wesley Moraes is more than good enough to play for Arsenal.
The Brazilian is said to be high up on Unai Emery’s list of targets for the January transfer window.
It’s been claimed that a £15million bid has been discussed and that Emery is currently leading the race for the 22-year-old forward.
Wesley has been in fine form this season, scoring seven goals in 15 league appearances.
Lenko isn’t surprised that one of Europe’s elite clubs are interested in signing Wesley and believes the youngster is already at the level required to play for the Gunners.
“I'm sure Wesley has the level to play at Arsenal,” he told La Derniere Heure. “He can be proud of what he's been doing for the last six months.
“He's working hard and he's reaping the rewards, but to play in the Premier League you have to work harder every day.”
Lenko doesn’t know if Brugge will be able to resist an Arsenal bid for Wesley and has claimed he doesn’t care if the club decides to cash in on one of their prized assets.
“If I'm worried about the rest of the season, there are smart people at the club who are preparing for the future and anticipating,” he continued.

“What will happen with [Emmanuel] Dennis, Wesley or [Hans] Vanaken in the next transfer window? I do not care yet.”
Emery could bring in attacking reinforcements next month due to Danny Welbeck’s horror ankle injury, which is expected to keep him on the sidelines until late March.
Arsenal’s new head of football Raul Sanllehi admitted as much in a recent interview, saying: "That is absolutely something unplanned.
"Yes, that makes you consider things. I am not saying that's a green light to go to the market but we have good players in the house also that may get further opportunities, like Eddie Nketiah for example.
"We need to see. We are in November, so it's a good time to start analysing what options we have in the market.
“We are not closing the door but it's still not the preferred one. The plans were made in the summer. We are happy with how things are going.
“We are always going to strive to be the best team we can be. If there is a very good opportunity, we are definitely going to consider [it], we will see.
"Danny Welbeck's injury alters, in a way, the views."
