Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho will be sacked when THIS happens - pundit
MANCHESTER UNITED boss Jose Mourinho will be sacked when it is mathematically impossible for his side to finish in the top four.
Mourinho admits Manchester United shouldn’t be seventh
That’s the view of pundit Lee Dixon who believes Mourinho doesn’t know what to do to turn United’s form around.
The Red Devils have struggled this season, winning just six Premier League games and sitting eighth after 14 games.
They’re 19 points off Manchester City in top ahead of tonight’s clash with Arsenal (8pm).
The gap to the Gunners in fourth spot is eight points and Mourinho has admitted Manchester United need to improve to close that gap.
"I don't think we need a miracle,” he said.
“We don't need to waste points where we don't need to waste.
"Before Palace, I said my target would be end of December in top four. Now the target has changed.
“Now we have to try to be very close to these positions.
“We need not to be so unlucky with problems that we have. We need some players to perform."
And Dixon believes Jose Mourinho is struggling but will stay until it’s impossible for the Old Trafford outfit to make the top four.
“Man United have gone to a new low for me,” Dixon said.
“They don’t see to be putting the effort in.
“They haven’t given up but some of them look like they’re lost, the team is broken.
“And at the moment Jose doesn’t seem to have any tools in his bag. It was similar to when he was at Chelsea.
“I see him floundering. I think it’s a sinking ship and he doesn’t know what to do.
“This team is way off winning.
“Everytime I watch Man United now they’ve got one player who stands out a million miles and that’s Rashford. You’ve got an asset like that and they’re not using him.
“It’s an absolute shambles. I think finishing in the top four is the cut off.
“If there’s no chance of that then he’s gone.”
