Callum Hudson-Odoi: Chelsea ace ‘wants’ Germany move like Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson
CHELSEA ace Callum Hudson-Odoi wants to follow in the path of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson and move to the Bundesliga because he would get more game time.
That is the opinion of BT Sport pundit and former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves.
Hargreaves was working as a pundit for Chelsea’s Europa League clash at home to PAOK Salonika on Thursday.
Hudson-Odoi was given his first start of the season by Maurizio Sarri and the first time he has started under the Italian.
The 18-year-old impressed in a comfortable win for Chelsea, scoring his first goal for the club in the second half and laying on a fine assist for Alvaro Morata.
He wants more of it, he sees the success of Jadon Sancho in Germany, Reiss Nelson on loan from Arsenal
Hudson-Odoi is thought of very highly at Chelsea but has been linked with a move away from the club.
Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on a January raid on the Blues for the teenager.
And Hargreaves reckons he has seen the success of Sancho and Nelson and wants to emulate them.
“He’s an exciting player,” Hargreaves said at half time.
“Look, 45 minutes, how many clips have we shown of him?
“Every time he touches the ball something happens.
“He wants more of it, he sees the success of Jadon Sancho in Germany, Reiss Nelson on loan from Arsenal.
“They’re absolutely flying, not only playing but getting goals and assists.
“He’s capable but he just needs that opportunity.”
Sancho initially left Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in 2017.
He has scored five goals in his 19 club appearances this season and has been part of Gareth Southgate’s last two England squads.
Nelson is on loan at Hoffenheim from Arsenal and has scored six goals in 13 appearances for the German outfit.
