Liverpool transfer news: Staggering claim about PSG emerges before Champions League clash
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN are set to make a shock move for Fabinho - and reports claim they could thrash out a deal after Wednesday’s Champions League clash at the Parc de Princes.
Liverpool FC: Fabinho could go to AC Milan, says expert
The Brazilian midfielder only moved to Anfield from Monaco for £40million in the summer.
But L’Equipe claim PSG could swoop as early as January - just SIX MONTHS after he joined Liverpool - as they are desperate for a new defensive midfielder.
Fabinho nearly moved to the Ligue 1 giants at the start of last season but Monaco asked him to stay for one more term before allowing him to leave.
Liverpool then pipped PSG to to sign a player who was then one of Europe’s most coveted midfielders.
However, he has struggled to settle in England and did not make his first Premier League appearance until the end of October.
The 25-year-old has been included in the first team more regularly since but visibly struggled in the 1-1 draw at Arsenal earlier this month.
And speculation surrounding his future has continued to grow after it was claimed Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was losing patience with him.
PSG host Liverpool in a crunch Champions League Group C match on Wednesday night giving both clubs the chance to sit down and discuss options.
Liverpool will want to recoup as much of their investment as possible but Fabinho’s value has almost certainly decreased during his short spell at Anfield.
However, his poor form does not appear to have deterred other potential suitors.
Both Juventus and AC Milan are also reported to be interested in taking him to Serie A.
AC Milan are said to prefer a loan deal with an option to buy if he impresses in Italy.
Fabinho still has three and a half years left to run on his contract.
