Liverpool: Carragher reflects on Owen's move to Madrid
Liverpool injury latest
Sadio Mane is fit for Liverpool’s Champions League tie with PSG.
Mane suffered an injury in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Watford at the weekend.
But the Senegal international will be available for manager Jurgen Klopp as the Reds jet out to France.
Liverpool face a crunch tie with PSG in Paris in a must-win game if they are to progress to the Champions League last-16.
PSG and Liverpool talks
Paris Saint-Germain hope to discuss a deal for Liverpool midfielder Fabinho when the two teams meet on Wednesday in the Champions League.
PSG host Liverpool in a crunch game in Group C and Fabinho will be on the agenda when top bosses meet.
Fabinho seems set to leave the Anfield club just six months after arriving from Monaco in a £40m deal.
Talks between the two parties could lead to an agreement on a January transfer when the window opens in the New Year.
Pulisic to leave Dortmund
Chelsea or Liverpool are set to land Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic.
Borussia Dortmund are ready to sell their star man for £70m, as long as he finishes the season with the Bundesliga side. The Telegraph claim Dortmund have no interest in selling Pulisic in January but will sell for £70m in the summer.
As well as Chelsea and Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the USA international. The forward has been on the radar of several Premier League clubs for years but it now looks more likely than ever he will make a switch.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants Marcos Asensio
Asensio eyed by Klopp
According to Spanish media outlet OK Diario, Jurgen Klopp is desperate to snare Marcos Asensio.
The Spaniard is still regarded as one of La Liga’s hottest talents.
He’s only 22 years old, but has already racked up 109 appearances for Los Blancos.
But despite his obvious ability he has faced criticism for his supposedly lackadaisical style.
That’s not put off Klopp off though. The Reds chief reportedly lodged a £160m offer last summer.
Real bigwigs were quick to turn down the approach.
With Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus, the La Liga heavyweights were in no mood to do business.
"This year, an offer of 180m euros [£160m] came to Liverpool's Real Madrid for Asensio,” Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda explained.
“The club said no because Cristiano left, but Klopp is in love with the player and will go for the player next summer."
Carragher claim
Liverpool are a similar proposition to when Rafa Benitez was in charge of the club says Jamie Carragher.
The Reds legend says his former club have become more resolute under the ex-Borussia Dortmund boss.
“Is it a little bit more like the Liverpool teams I played in?" Carragher said on Monday Night Football.
“Last season I said this team plays football that our teams never played.
“But it's actually now going back a little bit to maybe Benitez and Houllier's sort of time.
"They probably do play a little bit more football than we did but they can actually rely on the defence to win them a game."
