Daniele Rugani displays superb defensive qualities for Juventus
The Italy international was backed to join the Blues in the summer following Maurizio Sarri’s arrival at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri and Rugani worked together for two seasons during their time at Empoli.
And according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Chelsea made a £44m-plus (€50m-plus) bid for the 24-year-old in the summer.
Juve refused to sell the centre-half, however, with Rugani staying in Italy.

And Corriere dello Sport say Rugani regrets not joining Chelsea to reunite with Sarri.

The centre-back has made just three appearances in all competitions under Allegri, starting two Serie A games.
Sarri is keen to bolster his defence at Chelsea, especially with Gary Cahill set to leave Stamford Bridge.
The out-of-favour centre-back is expected to quit the Blues in search of regular game time elsewhere.
Manchester United are in the running to sign Cahill, 32.
Jose Mourinho, who is also desperate to bolster his back four, is keen to reunite with the England international in January.
Chelsea are back in action on Saturday, with Sarri’s men facing Tottenham in the Premier League’s late kick off (5:30pm).
A win for the Blues could send them up to second behind leaders Manchester City.
