Harry Redknapp son Jamie Redknapp once revealed Tottenham truths that could help in Jungle
HARRY REDKNAPP’S time in the I’m A Celebrity jungle is keeping him away from daily football chats with his son Jamie - but there is one quality the 71-year-old has that could lift spirits in the camp.
Harry Redknapp is currently participating in ITV’s 2018 edition of I’m A Celebrity.
The football manager is in the Australian jungle along with a host of other celebs.
He has taken up duty of toilet cleaner in the camp and appears to be getting on with his fellow celebs.
And it turns out Harry is a good man to have around when it comes to being a team player - is his son Jamie’s words eight years ago are to be believed.
I talk to my Dad every day about football
Back in 2010, the manager had just helped Tottenham finish fourth in the Premier League and qualify for the following season’s Champions League.
Spurs were on the up and a serious title challenge was being spoken of.
Harry had greatly turned around the club’s fortunes following a disappointing year with Spaniard Juande Ramos in charge at White Hart Lane.
And his son Jamie gave the gaffer a ringing endorsement in an interview with the London Evening Standard.
"I talk to my Dad every day about football,” Jamie said in 2010.
“We have an understanding.”
Unfortunately for the father and son, communication with the outside world is forbidden for I’m A Celebrity contestants.
But Jamie’s past comments on his father’s managerial style echoes how Harry has been working in the camp.
“He is perceived as a man who is good at putting out fires, keeping clubs up,” Jamie had said.
“But he's better than that.
“He's very good at getting the best out of players and getting the right structure for the team."
