Man Utd news: Injury boost as Dalot trains for Palace clash – Mystery guest also spotted
MANCHESTER UNITED have been boosted by the return to fitness of Diogo Dalot ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday (3pm).
Manchester United have welcomed Diogo Dalot back to full fitness ahead of their meeting with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese ace has been out of action with an unspecified injury since September but was pictured training at Carrington on Tuesday.
The snaps of Dalot in action come a day after the 19-year-old confirmed his return to fitness on his Instagram account.
The right-back uploaded a photo of himself celebrating, accompanied by the caption: “That feeling when you’re ready to help your team again. Good week to everyone.”
United’s latest training session saw Dalot take part in drills alongside Phil Jones, Fred and Marouane Fellaini – complete with a fresh new haircut.
Ashley Young was also present at Carrington, with the versatile defender’s starting berth now under threat.
Young had previously displaced Antonio Valencia after the club captain fell foul of Jose Mourinho, and the England international is still expected to get the nod against the Eagles.
Meanwhile, a special guest in the form of singer Anne-Marie was spotted meeting the squad.
The 27-year-old was seen posing for photos with Jones, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial as well as coach Emilio Alvarez.
Jose Mourinho will hope Anne-Marie is a good luck charm for his side, with United needing a good result this weekend to help climb the table.
The Red Devils are currently eighth after an inconsistent start, having suffered defeats to Brighton, Tottenham and West Ham.
The were also on the end of a sobering 3-1 loss in the Manchester derby last time out, although Mourinho can take heart from a shock 2-1 win over Juventus in the Champions League.
