Arsenal news: Aaron Ramsey to Chelsea or Liverpool? ESPN pundit makes transfer claim
ARSENAL star Aaron Ramsey would not get in the starting XI of Chelsea or Liverpool - and would not be a worthwhile signing for Bayern Munich either.
ESPN: Craig Burley slams Arsenal's Aaron Ramsey
That is the opinion of ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley.
Ramsey is out of contract at the end of the campaign and looks set to leave Arsenal for free.
The Gunners withdrew their offer to Ramsey earlier this season and are not expected to return with another.
Express Sport understands Bayern Munich are the frontrunners to sign the Wales international next summer.
He wouldn’t get in the Liverpool team, he won’t get in the City team and he probably wouldn’t get in the Chelsea team
Burley is a fan of Ramsey and appreciates how far he has come since his horrific leg break at Stoke in 2009.
But he does not think he is capable of becoming a regular at Bayern or the current top three in the Premier League of Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
“I’ve always been a fan of Aaron Ramsey,” Burley said.
“As a player but more so for coming back from that injury, the broken leg that was horrendous.
“However, I personally think there is a level where he can play at and I think Bayern Munich are looking for a better player than that.
“They’re trying to get back to the top of the tree in Europe again.
“(But they would be) signing a player who’s a good player but probably wouldn’t get in the top-three teams in England at the moment.
“He wouldn’t get in the Liverpool team, he won’t get in the City team and he probably wouldn’t get in the Chelsea team.
“So how is that taking Bayern Munich to the next level?”
Ramsey has made 16 appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring one goal.
However, he has not started in the Premier League since the 2-0 win over Watford on September 29.
The Gunners are back in action this Sunday when they visit high-flying Bournemouth.
