Eden Hazard: Did you see what Chelsea ace did during Belgium vs Iceland on Thursday night?
EDEN HAZARD delivered a contender for pass of the season during Belgium’s win over Iceland on Thursday night.
Eden Hazard admits he’s still tired from the World Cup
Hazard started on the left of Belgium’s attack in Brussels as they looked to take a hold of their UEFA Nations League group.
And although he did not get on the scoresheet himself, the Chelsea ace played a big part in Michy Batshuayi’s opener.
After teasing the Iceland defence with his close control and quick changes in direction, Eden Hazard whipped a superb curling pass into the box and path of the onrushing Thomas Meunier.
The inch-perfect ball fell perfectly for Meunier, who promptly squared for Batshuayi to slide in and tuck home Belgium’s first goal of the night.
Hazard’s Chelsea team-mate Batshuayi, on loan at Valencia this season, doubled up nine minutes from time.
Belgium’s 2-0 win leaves them top of Nations League League A Group 2, ahead of Switzerland and Iceland.
But the main talking point of the night proved to be Hazard’s pass, with fans taking to Twitter to voice their views after Sky shared footage of it.
"Hazard saying he is the most intelligent player in his team(s) isn’t even a joke. That was an intelligent pass," wrote one supporter.

"Hazards pass for Belgium today oh my life," added another.
A third said: "Eden Hazard has progressed to another level this season. If you haven’t seen this pass, stop what you’re doing and enjoy."
One Twitter user was not as impressed though, suggesting Barcelona's Lionel Messi delivers that kind of pass on a regular basis.
"First time I've seen Hazard play a pass like this. Messi does it 3-4 times every game. The levels are staggering," they wrote.
Hazard’s Belgium coach Roberto Martinez insists Hazard offers more than just creativity.
"He's been a very good leader," Martinez said.
"There are many different types of leaders but I think what Eden Hazard brings is someone you can get influenced by and who is an incredible source for younger players and who has been someone who can never, ever get affected by the pressure of the game or the pressure of the situation.
"And he enjoys his football and is always decisive for his play and a role model for all of us."
