Jose Mourinho showed LACK OF CLASS after Man Utd win over Juventus - Paul Scholes
JOSE MOURINHO showed a lack of class after Manchester United’s Champions League win over Juventus on Wednesday.
Mourinho explains his celebrations after Juventus clash
That is according to Manchester United legend and BT Sport pundit Paul Scholes.
United came from a goal down to beat Juventus 2-1 in Turin thanks to two goals inside the final five minutes.
A Juan Mata free kick drew the visitors level before a scrappy own goal gave them a valuable three points.
After the game, Mourinho went onto the pitch and cupped his ear towards the home fans.
You need to win with a bit of class sometimes
He also confronted Juve defender Leonardo Bonucci before walking back off the pitch and down the tunnel.
And speaking after the game, Scholes says it was typical of Jose Mourinho but does not make it any better.
“It’s not necessary,” the former midfielder said.
“This is everywhere he goes. You need to win with a bit of class sometimes.
“Shake the manager’s hand, we’ve had a great result, brilliant, well done, clap the away fans.
“I don’t think there is any need for that but that’s just the way he is.”
BT presenter Gary Lineker agreed with Scholes, saying: “Sometimes it’s ‘all about me’.
“Of course he’s been under pressure, it’s totally understandable, you’ve won.
“But sometimes you think…”
Ex-United star Owen Hargreaves cut Mourinho some slack though, with the Manchester derby coming up this weekend.
“No it’s not necessary but I think this game is a remarkable result really,” Hargreaves said.
“Nobody thought (it would happen). And obviously the derby on Sunday, it’s a big week for United and Mourinho.”
