Jose Mourinho: Man Utd chiefs angry about ONE issue and demand resolution
MANCHESTER UNITED chiefs are deeply concerned about one big issue and they want Jose Mourinho to resolve it quickly, reports claim.
Jose Mourinho has NO class claims Richard Keys
Mourinho has come under real scrutiny this term and although he clung onto his job after Manchester United’s 3-2 win over Newcastle before the international break, his long-term future at Old Trafford is far from secure.
The Portuguese tactician has struggled to get his side playing an exciting brand of football and they lost 1-0 against Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday.
A turbulent summer saw Mourinho clash with United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward over transfers and he failed to land a top centre-back he craved, as moves for Tottenham star Toby Alderweireld and Leicester’s Harry Maguire slipped through his grasp.
And now according to The Sun, Mourinho has been told to keep his own counsel by the owners.
The Glazer family, the Sun suggests, believe Mourinho has to learn to keep his mouth shut as his outbursts are affecting the club’s worldwide reputation.
Mourinho was charged for abusive behaviour during the win over Newcastle earlier this month and he was reminded of his responsibilities after United’s 2-2 draw away to Chelsea last weekend.
It is said the Glazers are also concerned about Mourinho’s deteriorating relationship with Paul Scholes and how it could create a rift between club, manager and the fans.
Although Scholes and Mourinho haven’t seen eye-to-eye, Scholes believes United shouldn’t sack their manager just yet.
No I wouldn't. He has a great record, he has been at big clubs, won massive trophies
He said: “No I wouldn't. He has a great record, he has been at big clubs, won massive trophies.
“He did it in the first year.
"It has been a struggle since then.
“I think he has the experience to turn it around. In the last few weeks his attitude has been better toward players.
"I think when you get into his third year you'd like to see an improvement year on year.
“A way of playing, an identity, I don't see what they are trying to achieve."
