Liverpool news: Mo Salah warning issued after Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade
MOHAMED SALAH can’t be written off as a one-season wonder as he will make people look ‘stupid’ and prove them wrong.
That is the honest assessment of BBC Sport pundit and ex-Premier League star Dion Dublin.
Salah - who scored the winner at the weekend against Huddersfield - helped himself to a double, including one from the penalty spot, in the 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade at Anfield on Wednesday.
After netting 44 goals in all competitions for Liverpool last season, the weight of expectation on Salah to repeat the feat has at times appeared to be a burden.
But the Egyptian hitman, after a subdued start to the term, has started to find his feet.
And Dublin thinks people would be silly to suggest that Salah is going off the boil.
“With players like Salah, who can score 35-40 goals a season - if you start to write them off they can make you look stupid,” Dublin said.
“Let's leave him alone. He's settling this season now and I'm pretty sure he'll score over 20-25 easy.”
Meanwhile, Salah, who has now scored 50 goals in a Reds shirt was delighted with the result.

He said: “It was an important game. We knew the game was going to be tough.
“The most important thing was the three points.
"It's great - I'm happy to score my 50th goal for Liverpool.
Salah is still making things happen despite fatigue says expert
“We know how to play with each other and know our qualities."
Liverpool’s win puts them top of Group C with six points from three games.
Jurgen Klopp's men turn their attentions back to the league where they host Cardiff on Saturday (3pm).
