Tottenham player ratings vs PSV: Hugo Lloris red card costs Spurs – but who impressed?
TOTTENHAM player ratings are in following their Champions League clash with PSV – who impressed and who failed?
Tottenham fell to a disappointing 2-2 draw in the dying stages of their Champions League clash with PSV after captain Hugo Lloris was sent off.
The Spurs keeper surged off his line while they led 2-1 and brought down Hirving Lozano before the hosts prodded home the equaliser.
Lucas Moura and Harry Kane netted for Tottenham with several good displays across the team, but also a string of stars who failed to deliver.
Take a look below to reveal our Tottenham player ratings against PSV.
Hugo Lloris – 5
Couldn’t do anything about the opening goal, but his dash and slide to earn a red card was very poor. Reckless from the experienced stopper.
Kieran Trippier – 7
Patrolled the entire right flank and provided a neat assist for Lucas Moura. A constant threat and didn’t neglect his defensive duties.
Davinson Sanchez – 6
Looked more comfortable with the ball than Alderweireld, unlucky to see his goal ruled out.
Toby Alderweireld – 5
Caught on the ball by Hirving Lozano. Almost made a stunning recovery tackle, but his unwitting deflection looped over Lloris.
Ben Davies – 5
Didn’t look comfortable at all in the first half. Looked out of his depth and PSV players tried to make the most of it.
Eric Dier – 7
Solid in the middle. Dier is often criticised for not changing games, but that simply isn’t his duty. He performed his tasks well, showing a battling spirit when PSV pressed.
Mousa Dembele – 5
Lacked discipline at times in the first half and struggled to keep up with PSV’s energetic midfield.
Lucas Moura – 6
Got lucky with a deflection to equalise for Spurs but an otherwise quiet night. Not his most productive evening.
Christian Eriksen – 7
A welcome sight connecting Spurs’ attacking forces together. His class and influence was appeared in flashes throughout.
Son Heung-Min – 6
Failed to make much of an impact in the first half, but grew into the game and rediscovered some of his exuberant style after the break.
Harry Kane – 6
Hit the woodwork and nodded home a big goal despite a lack of service.
