Premier League top scorers: Richarlison targets Hazard, Aguero, Kane in Golden Boot race
RICHARLISON will be looking to overhaul his competitors in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot when Everton take on Crystal Palace this afternoon.
Ron Harris: Eden Hazard can win Chelsea the Premier League
Richarlison has the chance to shoot up the Premier League top scorers chart when Everton face Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.
The Toffees sit 11th in the table ahead of this afternoon’s clash, with Brazilian Richarlison one of the club’s most prolific players so far this season.
The 21-year-old has already scored four Premier League goals since his summer move from Watford, matching the tally of team-mate Gylfi Sigurdsson, having initially been deployed on the left of a midfield three.
However, Everton boss Marco Silva stationed his £50million signing up front against Leicester last time out and is likely to do so once more against the Eagles.
With Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scoring just a single goal each this campaign, Richarlison has a chance to stake a claim for the lone striker role in Silva’s system.
The Brazilian is currently joint-sixth in the scoring charts alongside a host of other top-flight stars including Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah and Manchester United frontman Romelu Lukaku.
A goal against Palace, who have only kept three clean sheets in eight matches, would lift Richarlison level with Tottenham hotshot Harry Kane.
The England captain currently has five goals but fired a blank against West Ham, leaving him behind both Sergio Aguero and Eden Hazard in the overall standings.
Aguero scored once but missed a host of other chances as Manchester City battered Burnley while Hazard is still out front on seven goals despite not finding the back of the net against United.
While Richarlison has a good chance of breaking clear of the chasing pack this afternoon, Arsenal duo Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are also in the same position with the Gunners facing Leicester on Monday.
Both strikers have four goals already this season but should add to their tally with fixtures against Palace, Wolves and Bournemouth on the horizon.
