Arsenal team news: Predicted Arsenal line up vs Leicester – Sokratis injured, Ramsey doubt
ARSENAL could be set to ring the changes when they face Leicester in their first Premier League clash following the international break.
Arsenal could make several changes to their starting XI when they return to Premier League action against Leicester on Monday (8pm).
The Gunners are on a nine-match winning run and currently sit joint-top of the table after a superb start to life under new manager Unai Emery.
However, the Spaniard has a couple of selection issues to sort out following the international break with Sokratis Papastathopoulos the latest squad member on the treatment table.
The Greek centre-back, who did not play in Arsenal’s 5-1 win over Fulham last time out, was forced off at half-time during his nation’s 2-0 defeat to Finland and is unexpected to feature against the Foxes.
Rob Holding is likely to continue deputising alongside Shkodran Mustafi in defence with Laurent Koscielny and Konstantinos Mavropanos still sidelined.
Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey was a substitute for the rout at Craven Cottage and did not feature for Wales last week due to his wife giving birth to twins.
It is unclear whether the midfielder will be available on Monday, although the 27-year-old is likelyly to come back into the starting XI at the expense of Alex Iwobi if Emery reverts to a 4-2-3-1.
This change in formation would see Mesut Ozil make his return from a back spasm to take the place of Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the right wing.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was only fit enough for a place on the bench last time out due to illness but is set to make his comeback on the opposite flank.
Danny Welbeck will be the unfortunate player to drop out, with the striker a doubt after having to return early from England duty with a groin strain.
Petr Cech is still unavailable due to a hamstring problem so Bernd Leno will start between the sticks, while Lucas Torreira is keeping Matteo Guendouzi out of the team.
Like Koscielny, long-term absentee Ainsley Maitland-Niles has returned to training but is still well short of match fitness.
