Tottenham news: Duo among top 10 stars with most consecutive starts – Chelsea ace fourth
TOTTENHAM stars Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris are among the top 10 most reliable performers in the Premier League over the past decade, according to new research.
Tottenham have often struggled for consistency in the past 10 years, but their team selection is built on reliable foundations according to new data.
Both Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris are among the players who have strung together the most consecutive Premier League starts over the last decade.
Bookmaker bwin have analysed the English top flight’s injury list and revealed which stars are best at avoiding fitness problems – and which players are most injury prone.
Lloris enjoyed 57 consecutive league starts between November 2013 and March 2015 while Kane eclipsed that, finding himself on the team-sheet 71 times in a row between November 2015 and September 2016.
The pair are joined in the top 10 by Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta, with the Spaniard developing a ‘Mr Consistent’ reputation at Stamford Bridge since his arrival in 2012.
As a club, the Blues have the lowest injury rate of the traditional top six – averaging just four injuries a year with players missing a combined 352 matches over the past decade.
In comparison, Manchester United are top of the pile when it comes to average injuries per year with eight as their stars missed a total of 660 games.
Meanwhile, Arsenal are put to shame by their London rivals with players spending a combined total of 679 matches on the sidelines – but which stars are the most consistent of all?
