New Arsenal kit: Gunners sign Adidas deal to match Chelsea Nike contract – Top six ranked
ARSENAL have agreed a new deal with Adidas worth £300million, putting the Gunners among the Premier League elite when it comes to kit manufacturing contracts.
Arsenal reveal their 2018/19 home kit with Puma
Arsenal announced a new deal with Adidas on Monday, with the sportswear giant set to make the Gunners’ kits for the next five years.
The contract is worth £60million-a-year starting from next season, putting the overall total at a tidy £300m.
That is double the current deal Arsenal have with Puma and is the first contract the Gunners have had with Adidas since 1994.
The new agreement equals the yearly income Chelsea receive from their current deal with Nike, which is also valued at £30m-a-year.
The Blues are tied in to a 15-year arrangement with the American corporation, which is easily the longest-standing top-flight partnership.
However, neither Arsenal nor Chelsea hold the most lucrative kit manufacturing deal in the Premier League.
Manchester United boast that accolade, having signed a £75m-a-year contract with Adidas back in 2015.
The Red Devils’ deal puts rivals Liverpool and 2017/18 champions Manchester City in the shade, although both clubs have expiring kit contracts at the end of the current campaign.
