Arsenal news: Gunners ranked as DIRTIEST team in the Premier League this season
ARSENAL have committed more fouls than any other team in the Premier League this season.
Arsenal aren't exceeding expectations yet says Ian Wright
Arsenal appear to be a very different animal in the 2018/19 season following Arsene Wenger's departure, with stats suggesting they enjoy getting stuck into their opponents under Unai Emery.
The Gunners have committed more fouls than any other team in the Premier League with their current tally edging into triple digits after just eight games.
Emery has been quick to energise his inherited squad and is currently enjoying a six-game winning streak in the top flight.
Granit Xhaka is among the most hard-hitting players in the league and has racked up 14 fouls alone for Arsenal this season.
Fellow combative midfielder Lucas Torreira has only made three appearances in the Premier League since his summer move.
The Uruguayan has been pulled up six times for fouls in his trio of games, meaning he is on course to eclipse Xhaka's total.
West Ham, Everton and Manchester United are all among the dirtiest teams based on fouls comitted, with the Gunners' rivals Tottenham in the middle of the table.
At the other end of the scale, Manchester City and Liverpool appear to have been less aggressive and stayed in referees' good books so far.
