Liverpool news: Bellamy names the Chelsea star that would be perfect signing for Klopp
CHELSEA star Jorginho is the type of player Liverpool need in the middle of the park, claims former Reds striker Craig Bellamy.
Jorginho joined Chelsea from Napoli in the summer for a fee of around £57million.
The Italy international followed Maurizio Sarri to Stamford Bridge and has had a good start to his Blues career.
Jorginho has started all eight Premier League games so far, with Chelsea still unbeaten and level on points with Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the table.
Following Sunday’s goalless draw between Liverpool and City, Bellamy was discussing how Jurgen Klopp’s side can improve in the transfer market.
The one that stands out straight away is Jorginho from Chelsea. That type of player who is able to create
The former Wales international said the Reds are lacking a creative, deep-lying midfielder.
And he reckons signing a player like Jorginho would fill that gap.
“They’re solid enough, Liverpool are solid enough, especially with (Virgil) Van Dijk going in there,” Bellamy said on Sky Sports.
“I’m not sure they need someone higher.
“I think they need a defensive midfielder who has got creativity as well because he’s going to get a lot of the ball.
“Jordan (Henderson), I’m a big fan of his, his intensity.
“But at times he looks to get it too deep, he needs to play the other side of the forwards.
“I think he’s too keen to go back, too keen to go sideways.
“The one that stands out straight away is Jorginho from Chelsea.
“That type of player who is able to create, also to move men out of the way to allow one of the centre-backs to step in.
“That’s where you can outnumber people, especially the way they play with wingers coming inside and then going wide with the full-backs.”
Jorginho has won 10 caps for his country, scoring one goal.
