Man Utd news: Didier Deschamps makes Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba revelation
DIDIER DESCHAMPS has spoken out on the increasingly tense relationship between Paul Pogba and his Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho..
Jose Mourinho will struggle to turn it around says Glenn Hoddle
The France coach has said he is ‘not worried’ about the seemingly fractured tie between one of his star midfielders and the Portuguese chief.
Pogba was selected by Deschamps in his latest squad ahead of games against Iceland and Germany, despite his indifferent form for United.
But Deschamps says he will not be interfering in the relationship between the pair.
"I'm not worried at all. I'm definitely not Jose Mourinho and I'm not going to meddle in their relationship," Deschamps said.
"Everything is clear with Paul. He knows each time why he's here and what I expect from him."
The flamboyant midfielder told reporters he was ‘not allowed’ following the Red Devils’ goalless draw against Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday.
It came after he was stripped of the vice-captaincy by Mourinho, with Pogba claiming United should attack more following September’s 1-1 draw with Wolves.
Manchester United are currently on a four match winless run, sitting 10th in the Premier League and losing to Derby County in the Carabao Cup.
And Deschamps said what is happening at United depends on more than just his World Cup winning midfielder and Mourinho.
"There's what's happening at their clubs but that doesn't just depend on them," said Deschamps.
"You can't separate individual performance from a team performance with certain clubs who can go through a spell where results aren't as good.
"That goes for all the players. You have to take that into consideration, but the set-up is different when they join us in the France squad."
United welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford tomorrow evening - with the Magpies one of only three sides yet to record a win this campaign.
Pogba was substituted in United’s last Premier League match - last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to West Ham United.
But Mourinho has also been criticised for his role in the saga and for United’s recent displays.
Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes have been among those to criticise the three-time Premier League winning manager, although Mourinho later brushed off the rebuke from the latter, citing he was ‘not interested’.
