Man Utd news: This ONE player is good enough for Man City - Ince
MANCHESTER UNITED have lost their air of invincibility and only David de Gea would make Manchester City’s first team.
Manchester United: Nothing is being kept in house says pundit
That’s according to Paul Ince, who launched a scathing assault on his former club.
The Red Devils are disarray after a tumultuous few weeks.
They lost 3-1 to West Ham at the weekend and could only manage a 0-0 draw with Valencia in the Champions League.
The poor results come against the backdrop of Jose Mourinho’s increasingly fractured relationship with Paul Pogba.
It’s the perfect time to play them
He was stripped of the vice captaincy and was involved in a high-profile training ground spat with the Portuguese.
Ince says United need to get their house in order and has warned that only De Gea is good enough to play for City.
“What worries me, is that Man United are losing their presence,” he told Paddy Power.
“There’s no awe about them anymore.
“They’re there for the taking, and other teams know that.
“It’s the perfect time to play them.
“As much as it grinds me to say it, Manchester City have the wow factor now, so do Liverpool.
“Teams are looking and they’re worried to go to Anfield or the Etihad.
“The power has well and truly shifted.
“How many players from United’s team would get into City’s? One – David de Gea.
“In fact, he’s the only one that would make it into a Premier League XI.
“That’s simply not good enough.
“We shouldn’t be saying at this stage of the season that they’re out of the title race, but they are.”
Following United’s drab draw with Valencia, Mourinho claimed his side lacked ‘technical quality’.
"The players tried,” Mourinho said.
“They raised the level of their efforts.
"They raised the level of their intensity.
"We tried to play but in some crucial positions in the building up phase, we don't have the technical quality to build from the back."
