Man Utd vs Valencia DELAYED: United confirm late kick off, new start time announced
MANCHESTER UNITED VS VALENCIA has been delayed.
Manchester United’s Champions League clash with Valencia has been delayed due to traffic.
United confirmed the chance in kick off time 25 minutes before the match was due to start.
“Kick-off in tonight's #UCL match at Old Trafford has been delayed until 20:05 BST due to significant traffic congestion in the Manchester area. #MUFC” the tweeted.
United left their Lowry team hotel ahead of kick off but heavy traffic is cited as the reason the team bus arrived late.
The players are now at Old Trafford and club officials immediately requested UEFA delay kick off.
The extra five minutes will give Manchester United’s players more time to warm up for the game.
But it is certainly not the best preparation for a squad already enduring a miserable time of it at late.
Manager Jose Mourinho is understood to be at odds with Paul Pogba, while Alexis Sanchez was dropped from the squad when United lost to West Ham 3-1 on Saturday.
Mourinho is facing the toughest spell of his United career to date, with concern he could soon be sacked if results do not improve.
United tonight play a Valencia side that only won their first game of the season at the weekend.
They have also endured a miserable start to the campaign and will hope to capitalise on United’s misfortunes tonight.
