Arsenal news: Unai Emery backed to sign 'incredible talent’ in January on one condition
ARSENAL have been backed to complete a January move for Belgium international Yannick Carrasco - if they can afford his wages.
Arsenal: Yannick Carrasco a good fit says Shaka Hislop
Carrasco currently plies his trade in the Chinese Super League, joining Dalian Yifang earlier this year.
However, reports claim the 25-year-old is already keen on a return to Europe.
Arsenal are one of the clubs said to have been alerted to Carrasco’s situation, as have Juventus.
ESPN FC pundit and former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop was asked about Carrasco’s potential move to the Emirates.
If Arsenal can give him the kind of wages he’s looking for, in terms of the football I think Unai Emery and Carrasco are a good combination
He believes the winger would suit Emery’s style of play, with wages being the only possible stumbling block.
“This one is a hit for me,” Hislop said.
“Carrasco, who I think is an incredible talent, kind of surprised me by moving out to China.
“That didn’t add up for me, other than just purely in dollar signs.
“Now, if Arsenal can give him the kind of wages he’s looking for, in terms of the football I think Unai Emery and Carrasco are a good combination.
“I continue to believe that Carrasco is an incredible talent.
“That would be a good get for Arsenal.”
Carrasco has played 20 games for Dalian Yifang in all competitions, scoring five goals.
He had previously spent three seasons at Atletico Madrid, playing 125 times under Diego Simeone.
Carrasco was part of the Belgium squad that reached the semi-final of the World Cup in Russia this summer.
He has netted five times in the 31 caps he has won since his debut in 2015.
