LEEDS UNITED boss Marcelo Bielsa will need to strengthen his side in January if he wants to achieve promotion this season, according to former Whites star Stephen Warnock.

The Argentinian was deemed as a huge coup for the second tier outfit after his arrival in the summer.
And Leeds got off to a phenomenal start this season, impressing fans with their style of play.
Bielsa had his players pressing the opposition at a high tempo for long periods of time, which led to claims his small squad may become burnt out later in the season.
And Warnock, who played for Leeds between 2013 and 2015, thinks his former side could fall away from the promotion places because of the demands Bielsa is placing on his small squad.
He said at the start of the season that he wants a small squad to work with
Stephen Warnock
"It's a tough one because Bielsa's record isn't that good," EFL on Quest highlights pundit Warnock told Express Sport.
"He's got a great style of play but [his record] actually winning trophies isn't fantastic.
"He said at the start of the season that he wants a small squad to work with.
"Now I thought that was a massive problem straight away because of the way they press the ball.

"I think they will have to strengthen in January otherwise they will be in trouble."
Leeds started the season in fine style but have only picked up one win in their last five games in all competitions.
And despite their attractive style of play under Bielsa, the Whites are lower in the Championship table than at this stage last season.
"This time last season, Leeds were better off [in the league]," Warnock added.
"This season everyone is saying 'this is best football we've seen, we're going to go straight up' but they're not in a better position already.
