That’s the view of former Reds striker Michael Owen, who is predicting Liverpool to continue their 100 per cent record for the season in the Carabao Cup.
Jurgen Klopp’s side haven’t beaten Chelsea at Anfield since May 2012 but have won two of the last three at Stamford Bridge.
Tonight’s clash (7.45pm) is on Merseyside though both teams are expected to have much changed squads as they will meet again on Saturday in the Premier League.
Liverpool have flown out of the blocks this season, winning all six Premier League matches as well as beating Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Chelsea only saw their winning start ended at the weekend with West Ham holding Maurizio Sarri’s side to a 0-0 draw.
But Owen is expecting Chelsea to suffer their first defeat tonight.
“Liverpool have only won two of their last 14 games with Chelsea in all competitions and those successes both came at Stamford Bridge,” Owen wrote in his BetVictor blog.
“This game might be considered a “phoney war” ahead of their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

“Chelsea lost their 100% record at the London Stadium on Sunday and I feel the Reds will travel to the capital at the weekend having maintained their own perfect start to the season.”
For Chelsea, Sarri’s assistant and Chelsea legend Gianfranco Zola teased in the club’s pre-match press conference yesterday that a much-changed team will be named given the magnitude of their Premier League encounter.
The Italian said: ”It is an important game. We are Chelsea and we want to play all our games and try to win all our games.
“We'll take it seriously. It's not Premier League, we know. But because of who we are, what we are, we want to play and play the games as best as we can. So we will.
