Manchester United transfers: Expert predicts Perisic to join
Man Utd boss Mourinho wants Woodward decision
Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho wants Ed Woodward to change his mind on a deal for Ivan Perisic, according to reports.
The Red Devils manager was see to lure the Croatia international to Old Trafford this summer to provide balance to his attack - only for Woodward to block any potential transfer.
Manchester United are holding firm on Anthony Martial but the Mirror say Mourinho would happily rubber-stamp a swap deal.
However, Woodward is unlikely to change his mind because he thinks that Perisic, at the age of 29, is a deal that makes little sense from a business perspective.
Moyes on shock return
David Moyes has opened the door to a sensational return as Manchester United by admitting he would still take the job if it was offered - at a time where Jose Mourinho's position remains shrouded in uncertainty.
“In hindsight, people think it was the wrong time, but the opportunity was one I had to take,” he said.
“No one gets the United job without a level of success and that came from my 11 years at Everton.
“If I got offered the same today, I would say yes.
“I enjoyed my time but would have liked more of it to turn things around.
"That team needed to be evolved, but it couldn’t be done in ten months.
“I don’t care what manager came after Sir Alex Ferguson, I think they’d have found the same difficulties.
“People would say having Sir Alex watching over couldn’t be good, but I thought the exact opposite. Both he and David Gill were really supportive.
“But I know we are in the business of results — and I didn’t get enough of them.”
Zidane taking over Man United would be a risk says pundit
Zidane job claim
Zinedine Zidane will not take the Manchester United job because he doesn’t speak English.
That’s according to Steve McManaman, who told Caught Offside: “I think the link is mischief-making to be honest.
“Yeah he’s available, of course he is, and Manchester United’s a big job but I think people kind of put two and two together and come up with things.
“He doesn’t speak English, Zizou … I wouldn’t think there’s a link there yet.”
