Jose Mourinho: Did you see what happened to Man Utd boss at England vs Spain?
JOSE MOURINHO took a tumble ahead of England vs Spain at Wembley on Saturday night.
Jose Mourinho FALLS over rope outside Wembley Stadium
Jose Mourinho was left red-faced as he arrived at Wembley for England's UEFA Nations League clash with Spain on Saturday night.
The Manchester United manager tripped over security ropes at the Club Wembley entrance ahead of the big game in front of queuing fans.
Mourinho was hurrying to the game ahead of kick-off and decided to jump the ropes to gain entry.
However, things went badly wrong as the Red Devils boss caught his foot on the ropes, sending him sprawling into a steward outside the ground.
The 55-year-old gave a wry smile as he quickly picked himself off the ground before making his way inside the stadium.
Mourinho watched the England clash alongside Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka and West Ham legend Sir Trevor Brooking.
He is close friends with Aitor Karanka who was his assistant during his spell at Real Madrid several years ago.
The pair were deep in conversation during the match, and will have experienced mixed emotions throughout the 90 minutes.
United duo Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford combined perfectly in the opening minutes, with the former producing a terrific assist for the latter.
However, Shaw suffered a nasty head injury in the second half and had to be stretchered off the field.
Mourinho should turn back to Ashley Young once Premier League action comes back around, while England boss Gareth Southgate has Danny Rose in reserve.
It was a mixed night for Mourinho, but it all got off to the worst possible start; he won't be trying to take any shortcuts again.
