West Ham news: Robbie Savage makes Manuel Pellegrini claim
WEST HAM must persevere with big-spending Manuel Pellegrini.
Manuel Pellegrini: We are trying to build a strong squad
That’s according to former Premier League star Robbie Savage who’s urged club bigwigs not to sack the ex-Manchester City boss.
The Hammers have lost all four games so far this season and sit rock bottom in the Premier League as the only side without a point.
Pellegrini was only drafted in during the summer having been managing in China.
He spent an eye-watering £100m during the transfer window - and Savage thinks he should stay put.

He wrote in The Mirror: “West Ham’s dire start - the only club in all four divisions without a point - has put new manager Manuel Pellegrini in the spotlight.
“But it is dispiriting to hear talk of his job being under threat after just four games.
“Crystal Palace lowered the bar to a depressing level when they sacked Frank de Boer four matches into last season and I hope Pellegrini is given time to change the club's fortunes.
“Some fans turned on David Gold and David Sullivan last term, but they financed £100m of signings. No one can accuse the co-owners of not backing the new man.
“Four years ago, the Chilean led Manchester City to the title and must show why he got that job - by bringing some South American fire and brimstone to the party.”
West Ham struggled last term and discontent was widespread on the terraces.
The Chilean, who won a Premier League title with City, is convinced nerves are still an issue in east London.
“The fans have the last season in their mind,” Pellegrini said.
“They see that we are continuing with the same problems as last season where this team played not to be relegated all season.
“They had expectations, they saw we brought in new players and, of course, the desire to see the team playing well is high.”
West Ham face Everton at Goodison Park after the international break.
The Toffees have drawn three over their opening four games under Marco Silva.
