Premier League table: Every team compared to last season – Liverpool rise, Man Utd plummet
PREMIER LEAGUE teams have entered the second month of the season – but which sides have shown the biggest improvements on last year?
Premier League teams are up and running in the 2018/19 season, with top contenders, surprise packages and relegation battlers rising and falling since last season.
The table paints a very different picture to the 2017/18 standings after four games with fresh teams occupying the top and bottom spots.
Liverpool are enjoying a terrific start to the season and have put their name firmly in the title race.
The Reds have won four out of four, including a 4-0 rout against West Ham and conceding just one goal in the process.
Jurgen Klopp will be keen to keep the points flowing after the international break to maintain Liverpool's improved start to the league campaign.
Watford have also exceeded expectations so far though they also enjoyed a great start last time around.
Neither the Reds or Hornets find themselves at the very top of the chart, with one surprise package ranking as the most improved side after four gameweeks.
At the other end of the scale, Manchester United are suffering a poor start to life in 2018/19.
Jose Mourinho's men recorded a strong 2-0 victory over Burnley at the weekend to bring some cheer to the fans after a turbulent start.
Romelu Lukaku scored twice for the Red Devils before Marcus Rashford was sent off for a headbutt on former United academy graduate Phil Bardsley.
Newcastle have also struggled to cope this season though tough fixtures against Chelsea and Manchester City haven't helped their cause.
