Manchester United star Anthony Martial will stay at the club beyond the European transfer deadline because of the uncertainty over Jose Mourinho’s future.
Those are the thoughts of ESPN FC pundit and former Liverpool ace Steve Nicol.
Martial has been linked with a move away from Manchester United for the majority of the summer after his agent, Philippe Lamboley, revealed he wanted out.
Nicol was asked whether he thinks Martial will be on his way out of Manchester United before August 31 and the ex-Scotland international claims he will stay in the Premier League.

Nicol replied: “I’m going to say no.
“Up until a couple of weeks ago I would have said this guy is desperate to get out.
“But I think he’ll be looking at what’s going on at Man United, what’s going on with Mourinho.
“I think he will hold fire. So because of that I’m going to say no.”

Murphy on Mourinho
Man Utd would be better if Jurgen Klopp was in charge, Danny Murphy claims.
“Mourinho has been successful everywhere with his trusted formula, but I think he is feeling an obligation to change that formula at Manchester United,” Murphy told Bwin.
“I think he’s changing how he does things and making tweaks he wouldn’t usually make to try appease the history of the club and what fans expect.
“You can’t keep that many supporters happy by continuously playing such pragmatic football at Manchester United.

“This Mourinho team is set up defensively and they aren’t putting teams to bed.
“I think Klopp and Guardiola would definitely get more out of players like Pogba and Martial.
“Mourinho shows too much respect to lesser opposition instead of trusting the wealth of attacking options he has to score the goals that will get them the win.
“However, Mourinho has proven people wrong before and I think he will prove them wrong again this season.”
