Celtic transfer news: Rodgers plans TWO signings in £15m Aberdeen and Wolfsburg raid
CELTIC are preparing bids for Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna and Wolfsburg ace Jeffrey Bruma as deadline day looms.
Celtic: Brendan Rodgers discusses club's lack of transfers
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is keen on landing new recruits with the Scottish transfer deadline fast approaching.
Aberdeen rate centre-back McKenna at £10m, which is some way off what Celtic are currently willing to pay.
And Wolfsburg have slapped a £5m price take on Bruma.
Sky Sports claim a bid for Scotland youngster McKenna will be made before August 31.
According to the report, Aberdeen have already rejected offers from Championship sides Hull and Swansea for the 21-year-old.
The Scotland international became a key member of the Dons first team last season after previous stints on loan at Ayr and Alloa.
Celtic boss Rodgers is keen to get deals done before the deadline as he targets a third straight Scottish league title in charge of the Glasgow club.
And a move for Bruma is also on the cards.
Celtic: Abrahams says Rodgers must return to English league
German newspaper Bild claim Wolfsburg are open to selling the former PSV and Chelsea centre-back.
He was left out of Wolfsburg’s German Cup clash against SV Elversberg last weekend.
Wolfsburg managing director Jorg Schmadtke told BILD: "I do not participate in speculation, but we still have no offer."
Celtic’s failure to qualify for this season’s Champions League is a blow to the club but they remain ahead of rivals Rangers and title contenders Aberdeen in the race for domestic honours.
They play FK Suduva on Thursday in the first leg of their Europa League playoff.
Meanwhile, the Parkhead club are said to have rejected an offer from Porto for midfielder Olivier Ntcham.
The £13m bid was knocked back by Celtic but another offer could come in before the end of the week.
