Celtic transfer news: Who will sign? TWO deals that could be done before deadline day
CELTIC have been quiet during the transfer window so far but who could they sign before deadline day?
Celtic: Abrahams says Rodgers must return to English league
Daniel Arzani revealed a phone call with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers sealed his two-year loan deal with the Parkhead club.
The 19-year-old Australia midfielder impressed for his country at the World Cup in Russia, where he was the youngest player in the tournament, earning him a permanent move to Manchester City.
"I had a phone call from the gaffer Brendan Rodgers and he swayed my decision and convinced me to come here,” Arzani said.
"It wasn't so much about the football, he was talking about the club, the tradition and the fan base.
"I got along with him as a person, he is a really nice guy.
"There were a couple of other clubs interested (in a loan) but we didn't really explore it at all really, once we heard Celtic were involved.
"I spoke to the gaffer and I was really excited to get started, it is such a massive club.
"I'm here for two seasons at least and my focus is to develop as a player."
Celtic transfer news: Who could still sign?
According to Football Whispers, two players could be making their way to Celtic before August 31.
Aiden McGeady
The Sunderland winger spent six seasons with the Scottish giants between 2004 and 2010 before joining Spartak Moscow in a £9.5million deal.
He made 185 appearances for Celtic scoring 29 goals, and has been intermittently linked with a return to Parkhead over the years.
Football Whispers deem McGeady to be a ‘financial fit’ for the Hoops and score the likelihood of a transfer as 3.3/5.
Craig Dawson
The defender has been linked with a move away from West Brom after the Baggies were relegated from the Premier League last term.
Dawson has reportedly handed in a transfer request and is training away from the first team in order to force through a move.
Celtic have emerged as one of the more probable destinations for the 28-year-old with Football Whispers scoring the likelihood of a transfer at 3.2/5.
However, reports claim West Brom are holding out for £20m for Dawson, which could prove to be a stumbling block for any potential move.
