I don’t know if he’s happy in this moment. I’m not sure if he’s happy about the recruitment to try to improve the team
Carlos Carvalhal on Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho
Jose Mourinho famously interrupted Carvalhal’s post-match press conference last season when United beat Swansea 2-0, claiming the then Swans boss should have been named manager of the season.
Carvalhal admits he has not spoken to Mourinho recently so is not sure if he is totally happy at United.
But he says the 55-year-old could be putting on a front to the media, as he is quite a humorous person to his friends.
“It depends what he has in his head and in the heart also,” Carvalhal said on Goals on Sunday.

“I’m not sure if he’s happy about the recruitment to try to improve the team.
“I don’t know, I don’t know, really I don’t know. I’m not talking with him in the last (few) days as I told you.
“Usually when I talk with him he’s very funny all the time.

“The people don’t know him personally and if you know him very personally he’s a funny person, all the time joking and so on. That’s not the Mourinho I deal with.
“One time he said in Porto I remember that ‘I’m an actor, I’m an actor, when I’m a manager I’m an actor, I’m playing my role to do what I want to achieve’.
“When I deal with him I don’t deal with an actor, I deal with the person.
“Personally he’s a very, very nice guy and he’s the guy that usually I contact.”
United were back in action this afternoon when they faced Brighton at the AMEX.
