Man Utd news: Daley Blind reveals what he thinks of Jose Mourinho after Ajax transfer
MANCHESTER UNITED sold Daley Blind this summer - but the Ajax star harbours no grudge with Jose Mourinho.
Manchester United boss Mourinho defends team's record
Manchester United signed Blind from Ajax in the summer of 2014 with the player helping them win the FA Cup, EFL Cup and Europa League during his time at Old Trafford.
However, the Holland international was sold this summer with Mourinho sure he would secure a centre-back replacement.
Blind started his career in midfield at Manchester United, with his best games then coming as a defender under Louis van Gaal.
Mourinho, though, happily allowed the player to leave this summer after failing to guarantee him regular football.
Given the 55-year-old was the one who cut him loose, you could forgive Blind for harbouring a grudge.
But the Ajax midfielder has instead chosen to praise his old United boss.
"I learned a lot from him. He is a winner. And he can project that very well on a group,” he said.
"I almost played 150 matches. I won four trophies at United.
"I had a very beautiful time. I had many nice moments there.
"I am very grateful to the fans. I worked very nice[ly] with Mourinho."
The feeling between the two men, it seems, is mutual.
Jose Mourinho paid a glowing tribute to Blind ahead of his return to Ajax last month.
Gabriele Marcotti says Man United could sell Daley Blind
"I would like to say a big thank you to Daley Blind for everything he has done for the club since he joined in 2014," Mourinho told ManUtd.com.
"I have to say, that in my 18 years of management, Daley is the one of the most professional players, both on and off the pitch, that I have had the pleasure to work with.
"I would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the very best as he rejoins his boyhood club, Ajax.
“And I would also like to thank him for from the bottom of my heart for his commitment and dedication over the past two seasons."
