Barcelona transfer news: Adrien Rabiot snubs PSG contract offer as Barca eye deal
BARCELONA could now make a move for Adrien Rabiot, after the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder reportedly declined an offer to renew his contract with the French champions.
The 23-year-old, whose contract expires next summer, was not satisfied with the club’s renewal offer, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.
The France international, who has represented his country at all age groups, now runs the risk of spending next season on the sidelines if a move away from the club cannot be made before the transfer deadline on August 31.
PSG director general Antero Henrique will take extreme methods with players in the position of Rabiot, reports L’Equipe.
Rabiot could face being isolated from the first team for the remaining year left on his contract, despite PSG boss Thomas Tuchel expressing his desire to keep him in Paris.

"His future is in his hands, the decision belongs to him,” said Tuchel.
“He has to decide whether he is engaging with us, how we work, or whether he chooses a new challenge. "
Rabiot made 33 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG last season, scoring once and grabbing five assists.
The french midfielder, who is represented by his mother, is not unfamiliar with controversy when it comes to playing time though.

Rabiot refused to be named on France’s reserve list for for the World Cup in Russia, after missing out on Didier Deschamps’ final squad.
At the time Deschamps said: “I dare to hope that through some decisions like this it will allow him to mature, to reflect.
“I am convinced that he made a huge mistake in taking such a position.”
