Juventus transfer news: Marcelo ‘calls’ Juve to escape Real Madrid and join Ronaldo
REAL MADRID defender Marcelo is determined to force through a move to Juventus and reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports.
Juventus: First team stars join new man Ronaldo in training
Real Madrid have already lost Ronaldo to Juventus this summer.
The Serie A paid £105m for the Portugal international and have now turned their attention to Marcelo.
And Italian newspaper Tuttosport claim the Brazilian defender is angling for a transfer.
According to the report, Marcelo has ‘called’ Juve to gauge how interested they are in his signature.
He wants to know if Juventus will guarantee him game time before pledging to leave Real.
Marcelo and Ronaldo struck up a partnership on the Real Madrid left flank over the years and Tuttosport claim this is the former’s last chance to rekindle that relationship on the pitch.
The 30-year-old, who joined Real in 2007, continues to chase a dream move, it is claimed.
And the way Real’s transfer window has gone so far certainly suggests a move could be on.
Marcelo’s son produces moment of magic with Real Madrid team
Real have not only seen Ronaldo leave this summer but also manager Zinedine Zidane.
Mateo Kovacic completed a loan move to Chelsea today, while Luka Modric wants to join Inter Milan.
The exodus comes as Real themselves signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea today as part of the Kovacic deal.
But whether Marcelo will play in front of Courtois for the upcoming season remains to be seen.
