The club published a video clips package of Modric back in training with his Real team-mates this afternoon, with the jovial message “Luka Modric has started his preseason!”
The player is supposedly unhappy with not being one of Real’s top-paid player, despite his accolade in Russia this summer, and has his serious face on upon his return to the training pitch.
His wife is said to have initially contacted Inter to ascertain if they would be interested in signing the player.
Inter said yes and are hoping to secure a loan deal for this season, with an agreement to make the move permanent next summer.

Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui wants to keep Modric and reiterated president Florentino Perez’s instance that the playmaker will not be going anywhere unless a club pays £668m.
“There's nothing more for me to add. The president said it bluntly,” Lopetegui said.
Modric is supposedly seeking a £150,000-a-week contract at Inter Milan, who missed out on singing Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer.
The San Siro club still have three weeks to complete a proposed transfer but Modric may be left sweating on a deal if another Real exit goes through.
