Lewis Hamilton: Sebastian Vettel outlines plan to oust F1 champion at Canadian Grand Prix
SEBASTIAN VETTEL has explained his detailed plan to beat Lewis Hamilton at the Canadian Grand Prix this weekend.
Vettel clawed the deficit to Hamilton back to just 14 points by finishing ahead of his Mercedes rival in Monaco last time out.
The pair are going toe-to-toe for their fifth world championship and have won two races each this campaign.
However, Hamilton has claimed the Canadian Grand Prix title on six occasions - including the past three consecutive years.
But Vettel has identified the part of the track which he thinks he can take advantage of the Brit to claim victory.
It is very easy to lose the car over the big curbs
“The Wall of Champions - everybody knows it - the final two corners of the track,” Vettel said.
“It is very easy to lose the car over the big curbs.
“It is important not to push the car a little bit too hard or you will put the car into the wall - that’s what you want to avoid.”
Vettel also moved to explain the other key area’s of the track which will be definitive in Montreal.
“Visage Senna is difficult as you have to do a lot of trail-braking,” he added.
“You have to be ready to take evasive action and go straight onto the grass.
“On the exit it tends to have power over-steering.
“The hairpin needs huge deceleration. It is very important to have perfect traction and speed coming out of the corner.
“This will be decisive with the straight following up.”
