Lewis Hamilton hits out at Red Bull over Daniil Kvyat axe decision
LEWIS HAMILTON has warned Red Bull that their stable of young drivers "need time to progress" after Daniil Kvyat was axed just four races into the new season.
Daniil Kvyat was axed just four races into the 2016 Formula One season
Kvyat, 22, will be replaced by Max Verstappen, four years his junior, with the Russian demoted to Toro Rosso.
Red Bull took their decision after Kvyat's error-strewn display at the Russian Grand Prix in which he crashed into Sebastian Vettel twice on the opening lap.
Hamilton, 43 points adrift of his Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg ahead of Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix, added: "Do I agree with it? It doesn't really matter but it is definitely not something I'd do.
"They have got two fantastic drivers here and I hope that it doesn't hinder either of them because they have got bright futures ahead of them."
