Ross Brawn to leave role as Mercedes team principal
ROSS BRAWN will leave his role as Mercedes team principal when the season finishes.
It had been widely speculated that Brawn would move on and was mooted at the Japanese Grand Prix.
Reports had also emerged that he had failed to reach an agreement with his employers over his role next season.
This is despite the fact that Mercedes have refused to comment on whether he will be leaving.
Brawn's future is shrouded in doubt as he will not try to get a job elsewhere though he is free to continue working in F1 if he wishes to do so.
The 58-year-old, has also been linked with a role at Honda.
Brawn rose to prominence at Benetton in the 1990s, guiding Michael Schumacher to two world titles.
