Red Bull Racing star Mark Webber rejects Ferrari
MARK WEBBER’S decision to reject overtures from Ferrari and re-sign with Red Bull has closed another door for Lewis Hamilton.
Australian Webber, who won Sunday’s British Grand Prix, has opted to stay and fight with Sebastian Vettel for another year.
Webber, 35, who joined Red Bull in 2007, could have replaced Felipe Massa at Maranello, but said: “There were discussions with Ferrari, but my decision was to stay here. I virtually know everyone’s shoe size! I know everyone’s names.” Currently Webber is second in this year’s drivers’ championship, 13 points behind leader Alonso and 16 points ahead of team-mate and reigning champion Vettel.

“I’m firing on all cylinders and I know how everyone here ticks,” added Webber.
Hamilton intends to sit down soon with McLaren to try and work out a new contract.
He needs options to drive a big deal, but in reality this leaves just Mercedes as a top team – and they are waiting for Michael Schumacher to decide if he will stay on.
